The Apiezon M family of hydrocarbon high vacuum greases has been serving the market for a number years and features products highly regarded worldwide for their quality, consistency, and excellent performance within vacuum applications. Apiezon M greases are silicone-free and highly resistant to creep - the undesirable phenomenon traditionally associated with silicone-based products.
Apiezon M Grease is a silicone and halogen-free high vacuum grease, ideally suited toward all manners of high vacuum applications. Its inherent versatility allows Apiezon M Grease's frequent application within non-vacuum purposes in both scientific and industrial settings. Apiezon M Grease has been officially approved by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for professional industrial use.
Apiezon M Grease is designed for use in high vacuum environments at ambient temperatures (generally ranging between 10 to 30 degrees Celsius). If you are looking for a grease capable of performing at higher temperatures, Apiezon AP 101 or Apiezon H Grease may be more appropriate.
Apiezon M Grease is a high vacuum grease which does not suffer from the contamination problems frequently associated with silicone-based greases, such as the 'creep' or 'carry over' effects. It provides excellent lubrication and is recommended for use at ambient temperatures. Apiezon M Grease exhibits a vapor pressure of 1.7 x 10^[-9] Torr at 20 degrees Celsius. Built-in radiation resistance and powerful 'gettering' action, allows the absorbtion of potentially harmful grease and chemical impurities on metal and glass surfaces. Apiezon M Grease is easy to clean and remove as it is soluble in hydrocarbon and chlorinated solvents.
Apiezon M High Vacuum Grease - Product Applications:
As a high vacuum grease with excellent lubrication properties and radiation resistance, Apiezon M Grease has a diverse range of applications. In particular, Apiezon M Grease is commonly used in scientific and industrial sealing and lubrication applications. Apiezon M Grease has been especially formulated to provide excellent lubrication while maintaining an efficient gas seal and is therefore widely used in the manufacture and servicing of high performance vacuum pumps.
Using silicone-free Apiezon M Grease avoids the problems of 'creep' and 'carry over' which can often lead to sample contamination. Therefore, it is regularly used in analytical techniques such as infrared or mass spectrometry, where sample contamination must be minimized to the highest extent possible to ensure successful results.

We perform Turbomolecular Pump repair, Turbo Pump Repair, Dry Pump repair, Vacuum Pump repair, Mass Spectrometer repair, Rotary Vane Pump repair, Vacuum Booster repair, and Leak detector repair. Our highly trained technicians have years of experience and guarantee the highest quality service.
We operate at our own full service repair facility in Clifton, NJ. We have invested in state-of-the-art equipment including; complete line of decontamination, cleaning, drying, balancing, vibration analysis and software to minimize failures. Our in-house machine shop is capable of machining various components, prototypes and housing conversions as needed.
We support all major manufacturers including Pfeiffer Vacuum, Alcatel / Adixen, Edwards Vacuum, Varian, Oerlikon / Leybod Vacuum, Vacuubrand, and Agilent Technologies.
Repair Steps
- Full incoming inspection and run up time check, vibration check, drive inspection.
- Full disassembly, decontamination and cleaning.
- Pump is balanced utilizing state-of-the-art equipment from the world leader in equipment balancing and analysis to reduce noise and vibrations and extend bearings life.
- Assembly and replacement of all necessary parts such as shafts, bushings, bearings, sleeves, O-rings, gaskets, seals, wicks, etc. Only parts that meet or surpass OEM specifications are used to ensure dependable highest quality service and long pump life.
- Final test and leak check. The pump in fully assembled condition is checked for vacuum seal. Leak test to 1 x 10-9 Mbar l/s. Vibrations are analyzed and test data is digitally recorded.
Every pump and instrument is extensively tested for 48 hours. During our final tests, we monitor total pressure, temperature, vibration and noise level utilizing newest testing technologies and techniques specified by OEM.
