The macro™ pipette controller is a reliable and ergonomic alternative to rubber pipette bulbs and other manual aspiration devices. A unique valve system provides precise, one-finger meniscus control that relieves repetitive motion strain from serial pipetting operations, and is simple to operate, even by novice users.

Limitations of Use

This instrument is designed for dispensing liquids, observing the following physical limits:

  • Use between +10°C and +40°C (50°F and 104°F) of instrument and reagent

  • Density up to 2.4 g/cm³

  • Vapor pressure up to 500 mbar; Aspirate slowly above 300 mbar, in order to prevent the liquid from boiling

  • Use with graduated and volumetric pipettes of glass or plastic in the volume range of 0.1mL to 200mL with a sucton tube outer diameter <9.2mm

 

Operating Exclusions

Never use this instrument with:

  • Liquids whose vapors have a corrosive effect or attack the materials silicone or PP

  • This instrument is NOT designed for Pasteur pipettes

We operate at our own full service repair facility in Clifton, NJ. We have invested in state-of-the-art equipment including; complete line of decontamination, cleaning, drying, balancing, vibration analysis and software to minimize failures. Our in-house machine shop is capable of machining various components, prototypes and housing conversions as needed.

We support all major manufacturers including Pfeiffer Vacuum, Alcatel / Adixen, Edwards Vacuum, Varian, Oerlikon / Leybod Vacuum, Vacuubrand, and Agilent Technologies.

Repair Steps

  1. Full incoming inspection and run up time check, vibration check, drive inspection.
  2. Full disassembly, decontamination and cleaning.
  3. Pump is balanced utilizing state-of-the-art equipment from the world leader in equipment balancing and analysis to reduce noise and vibrations and extend bearings life.
  4. Assembly and replacement of all necessary parts such as shafts, bushings, bearings, sleeves, O-rings, gaskets, seals, wicks, etc. Only parts that meet or surpass OEM specifications are used to ensure dependable highest quality service and long pump life.
  5. Final test and leak check. The pump in fully assembled condition is checked for vacuum seal. Leak test to 1 x 10-9 Mbar l/s. Vibrations are analyzed and test data is digitally recorded.

Every pump and instrument is extensively tested for 48 hours. During our final tests, we monitor total pressure, temperature, vibration and noise level utilizing newest testing technologies and techniques specified by OEM.
